Bob's Baseball Replays
This is the Internet home for my re-creation of
Baseball's history. My ultimate plan is to replay every Major
League Baseball season using Strat-o-Matic's computer game. This
is going to take years and years to get caught up on, but I'm in no
hurry. I will be managing the Detroit Tigers each season, while
autoplaying the other team's games. These are not exact, "as
played" replays, as I have a bit of a twist to keep each season
consistant. I do not use divisions. It is simply the
American League and National League. The top 2 teams in each
league at the end of the season make the playoffs. In modern day
baseball, that decreases the number of postseason teams, but adds teams
in the pre-1969 era. In order to give the regular season champion
an advantage in the playoff series, they will have the home field for
every game in the best of 7 LCS. I strongly considered not doing
an LCS at all, but decided that I enjoy 1 extra round of playoffs.
Also, every season will be 162 game schedules, no matter how many
games were actually played. I am using the "carded" players for
each team only, unless of course it is a season that has not been
released with cards by Strat-o-Matic. Player usage for the Tigers
will be as close to 100% as possible. For the computer teams,
whatever their manager does is acceptable. I began with 1989 as
that is the first season I have the code for.
