Notes
This album is very similar to Flick of the switch, being one of the bands weaker albums and also self produced by the band. This is the first album to not include Phill Rudd on drums. By this point he had been replaced by Simon Wright. Rudd would later reunite with the band. There are a couple hits here including one of my favorite Brian Johnson tracks, "Sink the pink". The album reached number 32 on the Billboard charts.
Recommendations
As I stated earlier, this is one of the bands weaker albums. It includes "Sink the Pink" and "Shake your foundations" which are also on the Who made Who soundtrack. So, obviously this album rocks because it's AC/DC, just because it's a weaker album doesn't mean it stinks. But if you're only into their monster hits, pass it up, if you want to hear some tunes you never heard before, check it out.
If you plan on purchasing Fly on the wall
You must pick up the 2003 remastered version. All AC/DC albums have been remastered with new packaging, fabulous liner notes, and CD ROM extra footage features. AC/DC may have the greatest CD package on the market today. The liner notes tell a continuing story on the band. Each disc continues the story where the previous disc left off. You should be able to purchase this CD at any Best Buy, or local record store. Check out Cdnow.com as well, they sometimes have discounted rates on AC/DC albums.
If you don't plan on purchasing Fly on the wall but want to hear some tracks from it
I have listed my personal top five tracks from this album. You can find two of these tracks on Who made Who, so you may just want to purchase that album. If interested in other tracks you should check out Itunes or Napster to download any other tracks that I recommend. I also have my ideal compilation for the band on my AC/DC home page.
