Notes

This is the third studio release by AIC, and the second full album release.  To me, this was the breakthrough album for the band.  It brought elements from their first two albums and what came of it was a 90's masterpiece.  Unlike their first full length album, this is an album that you can play from start to finish and never get tired of.  There were 5 singles released off Dirt, and it peaked at number 6 on the Billboard charts.

Recommendations

Great start to finish album that includes some of the bands best tracks.  Like fellow Seattle band, Nirvana, there are only three full length releases by the band, all of them being must owns.

If you plan on purchasing Dirt

There is only one version of Dirt to own and that is the original 1992 release.  You should always see this at your local record store.  You may be able to get it at a cheaper price at Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing Dirt but want to hear some tracks from it

If you were to buy these tracks individually, you would spend more than making the album purchase.  There are so many good songs here that I would recommend to not purchase tracks, but to just purchase the album.  If you're still not wanting to own the album then I would recommend checking out my top 5 and previewing others at Itunes or Napster. I also have my ideal compilation for the band on my Alice in Chains Home Page
