Notes
New English EP was intended to be a small record with some demos and new material to hold fans over while they wait for their second full length release. Well as it turned out, all but one member of the band left and that album was never released. The material on here is good, despite 2 of the 7 tracks being demos from their first album, and another track being a live cover of Pink Floyd’s “Fearless”, which they do an excellent job with. So there are really only four new tracks here, which is kind of a tease to fans, because all four tracks are good.
Recommendations
For only having seven tracks, four of which are new, and one a live cover, this is a good album. Any fan of indie rock or even 70’s classic rock should give this a listen. You wouldn’t want to pay a lot for it, but if you find it fewer than 7 or 8 bucks, then go for it.
If you plan on purchasing New English EP
There is only one version available. You’re either going to have to get lucky and find this at a used record store, or maybe even a garage sale or just buy it online. I’ve never once seen this available in stores. It is sometimes discounted at Cdnow.com, so you may want to give that a shot.
If you don't plan on purchasing New English EP but want to hear some tracks from it
I can totally understand if you just want to purchase individual tracks since this may be the cheaper route. You should go with my top 5, which include the 4 new songs and “Fearless.” I’m not the biggest fan of cover songs on albums, but they actually do a pretty good job on this. The album and any of these tracks can be purchased at Itunes or Napster.
