Notes
This is the debut album for American Hi-Fi. With the exception of the single "Flavor of the weak" this album was not recognized much. That was the only single released, but to be honest the tunes found here are really not that bad. It peaked at number 81 on the Billboard charts.
Recommendations
Just think of this album as a typical late 1990's, early 2000's alternative/pop rock album that is slightly better. If that is your scene then you will enjoy this. If you're into anything but this, then you're going to hate it.
If you plan on purchasing American Hi-Fi
There are a couple highly expensive imports that include a bonus track. To me, it's not worth the 20-25 extra bucks for this tune, so just go with the original 2001 release. You can usually find this in stores. If not, it is always in stock at Cdnow.com.
If you don't plan on purchasing American Hi-Fi but want to hear some tracks from it
I could name you 4-5 songs right now that are pretty good on this album. 5 years from now you could have me do the same thing and I may pick 4-5 different tracks. Most of this album sounds similar, but it's good. It's hard to say which tracks are better than the other. "Flavor of the weak" is probably the song that you are familiar with. But I also enjoy the tracks "Safer on the outside" and "Don't wait for the sun." You can preview or purchase any of these tracks at either Itunes or Napster. For more suggestions you can always check out my ideal compilation at my American Hi-Fi Home Page.
