Notes

This is the debut album for Ashanti.  It is one of the biggest selling debuts of all-time for a new female artist.  The album contains a theme based on Ashanti's love life.  It starts off with the troubled relationship "Foolish" then the rest of an album goes in order based on her relationship all the way till the end when she decides to leave her man.  The album won all sorts of awards and peaked at number one on the Billboard top 200.

Recommendations

Though this album won several awards and was a number one record, it is still not that great to me.  The first half of the album is fine, but then it gets real weak.  I would recommend this if you're into the R&B scene, but if you can't handle that, then you should take a hall pass and move on to the next class.

If you plan on purchasing Ashanti

There are two versions of this album.  The original which has a parental advisory sticker, and a clean version.  There is really only one track that is dirty, so I would recommend getting that original version, unless if you have children, then get the clean version.  Both of these can found at a nice price at Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing Ashanti but want to hear some tracks from it

This album has 17 tracks and to me, only 5 of them are worth owning.  If you're leaning towards my path, then you may want to save some money and purchase only a couple tracks from this, and put the extra towards another album.  I would recommend checking out my top 5 at Itunes or Napster.  For more suggestions, you can check out my ideal compilation at my Ashanti Home Page.
