Notes

This is the debut, and probably the best album recorded by The Association.  It includes the hits “Along comes Mary” and the number one single “Cherish.”  The album contains their signature vocal harmonies with a hint of psychedelic. The album contains some deep tracks and the original version of “Enter the young.”  A sped up re-make version of “Enter the young” is found on their first greatest hits package.  The album peaked at number 5 on the Billboard charts.

Recommendations

If you’re familiar with The Association and enjoy their hits, then you should give this one a shot.  You won’t know every track on here, but you may find a new favorite.  If you’re also into 60’s bands like the Byrds, then you should give this a listen.

If you plan on purchasing And Then… Along comes The Association

The original LP was reissued in 1967, which is the version that is available on CD.  The version to own is the 2006 remastered version.  The sound quality is great and includes some nice liner notes.  I’ve never seen this available at any major CD shops.  I purchased my copy at a local used store, which I recommend doing, or visiting Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing And Then… Along comes The Association but want to hear some tracks from it

You’re going to want the two hits “Along comes Mary” and “Cherish.”  These can be owned on several greatest hits packages of the band, which I would recommend if you're not purchasing the album.  If you’re wanting to get away from the top 40 material then you should check out tracks like “Enter the young”, “Don’t blame it on me”, and “Message of our love”.  All of these tracks can be purchased at Itunes or Napster.
