Notes

This is debut album of Detroit Hip-Hop group D12.  The album contains the hit Purple Pills.  Purple Pills was edited for top 40 radio with all the sex and drug references removed and was called Purple Hills.  The album is very dirty with each song having a sexual and drug reference.  Eminem was already a popular rapper at the time of it's release which may have helped the albums record sales.  There is a bonus track called Girls which is a diss track by Eminem.  The album peaked at number one on the Billboard top 200.

Recommendations

If you're into Eminem this is a must own for you.  If you're not into vulgar topics or hip-hop music then you should stay far far away from this one.

If you plan on purchasing Devils night

There are two versions of this album available.  The enhanced version is rare and very expensive, usually around 40 bucks.  So unless if you are a diehard, I recommend owning the non-enhanced version.  It sounds just as good, but you will be missing a couple tracks, but to me it's not worth the 40 bucks.  You can purchase both versions at Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing Devils night but want to hear some tracks from it

As I said there are a lot of vulgar topics on each track on this album so you may not want to own any of it.  You may want to check out the track Purple Pills, since there is an edited version of that.  I personally do think this album is pretty good for Hip-hop standards, so if you are a fan of Hip-hop then you should check out my top 5.  There tracks and others can purchased at Itunes or Napster You can also check out my ideal compilation at my D12 Home Page.
