Notes

This is the debut album for Deftones.  I first heard a couple tracks from this album from some buddies of mine and got semi-hooked.  There was a time when I enjoyed every track from this album, but listening now, there is too much screaming.  Their later albums would become more popular and better charted.

Recommendations

If you're into heavy metal and loud terrifying vocals this is for you.  The thing that's weird is that Chino can go from the most horrific screams to a cool style of singing.  If you're looking for something that is different from your basic metal this is up your alley, if not, you should stop right now.

If you plan on purchasing Deftones

There is only one version of this album available, and that is the 1995 original release.  At times you may be able to find this at your local record store, but if not, you know where you can always get it, Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing Deftones but want to hear some tracks from it

A lot of you may be passing it up, which is okay.  I would recommend checking out a couple tracks though.  "Bored" is an overall good track as well as "One weak", those two tracks have the least amount of screaming.  You can purchase any of these tracks at Itunes or Napster.  For more suggestions feel free to check out my ideal compilation at my Deftones Home Page.
