DMX

DMX, real name Earl Simmons, took on the rap name DMX named after a drum machine.  He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and has been making Hip-hop albums since 1998.  He started off as most rappers do in an underground group.  This group was called G.O.G.  After being recognized in G.O.G. he landed a deal with Ruff Ryders who then got Def Jam Records to record his first album.  DMX's first five studio albums all debuted at number one, something that no other artists has done. His sixth studio album debuted at number two.  When he's not recording DMX has trouble with the law.  He has been arrested several times, has completed several hundred hours of community service and is still pending possible animal cruelty charges.  Despite his Illegal ways, he is one heck of a rapper and one of my all time favorites.  Rumor has it that he working on a seventh studio album titled The Resurrection of Hip-Hop.  As of now DMX has six studio albums and a greatest hits album that was released in 2007.  I do not own the greatest hits album since I own all the material on other discs.
