Eminem

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers is an American rapper/producer who was born in Missouri, and raised in Warren, Michigan. He is one of the most successful rappers of his time. Marshall got into the hip-hop scene when he was a young teenager. He was involved in some underground groups and participated in many local freestyle battles. He recorded an album around this time which was more of a demo, and only a handful of copies were released on cassette and a small amount on vinyl. This album was sent to Jimmy Lovine, CEO of Interscope Records who played it for Dr. Dre who also enjoyed it. Thanks to Dr. Dre supporting him, Eminem hit the mainstream and becoming one of the most controversial rappers. Eminem would go own to create his own label, Shady Records, with his group D12 being the first artist to sign. Along with raping Eminem spends a lot of time in the studio producing for members of D12, and members of 50 Cents click, G-Unit. He also has given acting a try, acting in a few movies including the semi-autobiographical Eight Mile. Eminem’s personal life is something he raps about in many of his songs including his relationship with his mother, his on again/off again wife, and his daughter, Hailie, who has been referenced in 5 tracks. After the release of Encore in 2004 Eminem said he was retiring. He has not released a solo album since, but it is rumored that he has been recording some tracks for a new album. He is also going to act in another film titled Have gun – Will travel.
