Notes

This album was released in 2003 and then a enhanced two disc version was released a year later.  Disc two consists of four tracks, two previously unreleased and two new versions of tracks released on the original album.  The four track second disc has been pegged with the title For the short ride home.  There were two hits from this album, "Amazing" and "Everybody wants you".

Recommendations

For the ride home is not that bad, but it's not that good either.  There are only a few tracks here that I would consider "I-podable" I usually recommend that if there are 5 solid tracks on an album I would recommend it to the average listener, this album does not meet that standard, therefore I only recommend owning a few tracks from here.

If you plan on purchasing For the ride home

I purchased this back in the Fall of 2004 when the enhanced version was released.  The reason I bought this album was because I heard the single "Amazing" on a local college radio channel.  So I went to Best Buy, purchased the album, inserted the disc into the player and listened to the opening track, which happened to be "Amazing".  The song was far from amazing, it was not the version I heard on the radio.  Luckily for me, the second disc has the version of "Amazing" that I wanted and therefore in my opinion the only version of this album to own.  Both of these albums are hard to come by.  According to Cdnow.com, you can purchase the original release only as a used copy, and the enhanced version is usually not in stock and could take up to three weeks to ship.

If you don't plan on purchasing For the ride home but want to hear some tracks from it

The tracks "Amazing" (Acoustic version) and "Home to me" are the two best in my opinion and should be in your library.  There are a few other good tracks, but nothing fantastic.  If interested you can check out my top 5 at Itunes or Napster. I also have my ideal compilation on my Josh Kelley Home Page.
