Notes
There are many mixed reviews of this album. In a way its a bit different than their two previous albums due to having more melodies, however the whole rap/metal vibe is still there. The opening track 'Hot Dog" is a diss at Nine Inch Nail front man Trent Reznor and has an unnecessary amount of F words (48).The two big hits from this album were "My way" and the opening theme to the Nintendo Gamecube game NHL Hitz 2002, "Rollin". Though the album had mixed reviews, it still sold over one million copies in its first week, peaking at number one on the Billboard charts.
Recommendations
Its really not that great of an album. If you're into the whole hip-hop/metal scene, then you should love this. If not than you will want to stay away, or purchase their Greatest Hitz album.
If you plan on purchasing Chocolate starfish and the hot dog flavored water
There are a few versions of this album. There is a pointless limited edition that I would stay away from. It costs more and the only bonus is one additional track. The version I own is the original release which includes all the profanity. For those who have children or are easily offended please purchase the edited version. Both versions can be purchased on-line at Cdnow.com.
If you don't plan on purchasing Chocolate starfish and the hot dog flavored water but want to hear some tracks from it
"My Way" and "Rollin (Air raid vehicle)" are must own tracks. Sadly "My way" is the cleanest track on the album so other than that you're going to be hearing some hardcore profanity. These tracks can be purchased either on the album Greatest Hitz, or at Itunes or Napster. There are a couple other decent tracks such as "My generation". If you would like more suggestions check out my top 5 or my ideal compilation for the band at my Limp Bizkit Home Page.
