Notes

This was the breakthrough album for Live.  It is loaded with classics, and to me is one of the better albums of the 90's.  There were several singles such as "Selling the drama", "I alone" and the most popular being "Lightning crashes".  There is also a bonus track that isn't brutal, but isn't that great either.  Throwing Copper took over another one of my favorite albums of the 90's, Tupac's Me against the World for the number one spot on the Billboard chart.

Recommendations

This is an album that should be sitting in your collection.  You will find after listening to it, how much the band had improved from their debut and how great of an album this really is.

If you plan on purchasing Throwing Copper

The original 1994 release is still the route to go.  They have made a couple expensive imports, but still the original is the best way to go.  You can always find this at your local record store for a decent price, but you may be able to find it cheaper at Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing Throwing Copper but want to hear some tracks from it

Well first off you are crazy if you don't purchase this.  But you will totally want to purchase the tracks I mentioned earlier as well as some deeper tracks.  The opening track "The dam at otter creek" is not known at all, and yet it is fantastic.  It is quite possibly the best or second best track on the album.  Other notable tracks are "All over you" and "White, discussion".  All of these tracks and the album can be purchased at either Itunes or NapsterYou can also view my ideal compilation at my Live Home Page for more suggestions.
