Notes
Though it may seem that this was an experiment, having talented musicians from different bands form together, it was not. They intended to record more than just this one album, but I am thankful they were able to get this one completed. Above is the only album released by Mad Season. The album cover and artwork was illustrated by Layne Staley. The album reached number 24 on the Billboard Charts.
Recommendations
You've got to own this one. If you're a fan of the Seattle grunge era, then I'm pretty sure that you already own it. This album contains all the elements of AlC and Pearl Jam, so you know this is an amazing record.
If you plan on purchasing Above
I've never seen this album in stores. I discovered this one online probably in 1998 or 1999. I was really into Alice in Chains at the time and discovered this at my favorite site Cdnow.com. That's where I purchased it then, and where you can still purchase it today.
If you don't plan on purchasing Above but want to hear some tracks from it
There are ten tracks on this album, and I can easily say that eight of these tracks, if not nine of these tracks are excellent. Ladies and gentleman, that is a no brainier purchase. But if you are still refusing to make the purchase, you can preview or purchase individual tracks at either Itunes or Napster. If you're into mellow tracks, (Wake up, Long gone day) Hard rockers, (I'm above, Lifeless dead), Blues, (Artificial Red), or instrumentals (November hotel, All alone) Then you will find something you like from this album.
