Notes
This is the debut album for Southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band. It includes two of their biggest hits, Take The Highway, and Can't You See. Now I am a big fan of the track Can't you see, but the version found here on the debut is the studio version. Down the road there will be a live version included in another album that is much better.
Recommendations
This is a solid Southern and Blues album that should be in your collection. It is not loaded with Top 40 hits, but there are some classics here. If you are a fan of Southern rock or the Blues, then your friends should be able to find it in your collection near the beginning of your M artists.
If you plan on purchasing The Marshall Tucker Band.
You have to get the 2003 remastered version. The 2003 version includes an excellent twelve minute bonus song called Everyday (I have the Blues). When you include this track to the album it increases the value and makes it even more of a must own. All 1970's Marshall Tucker Band albums have been remastered (with the exception of one) and are the only versions to own. You should be able to find it without a problem at your local record store. If not, you can always find it available at Cdnow.com.
If you don't plan on purchasing The Marshall Tucker Band but want to hear some tracks from it
As I said earlier, there is better version of Can't You See, so it's okay to pass it up here. However, you still would want Take The Highway in your collection. There are some other tracks in my top 5 that you may want to preview as well. You can purchase these and take a listen at Itunes or Napster. Unfortunately you won't be able to purchase the bonus track Everyday (I have the blues) online, so to own that you will have to purchase the album, which is okay, it's a good one. For more suggestions on the band you can view my ideal compilation at my Marshall Tucker Band Home Page.
