Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty is a rock band that formed in the 90’s out of Orlando, Florida.  Three of the original band members came from another band that never made it big called Tabitha’s secret.  That band would eventually break up and recruit two new members and that is how Matchbox Twenty took off.  Their debut was a smash containing several singles that pleased a good mix of fans from middle school students to adults.  After the huge success of their debut album, front man Rob Thomas wrote and performed a number one song for Santana that won him all sorts of awards.  The band recorded a few more albums that were successful, but would never reach the sales of their debut.  Thomas took a break from the band to record a solo album, which was a number one record in the U.S.  Original rhythm guitarist Adam Gaynor left the band in 2005, but the band is still together.  As of 2008 they are finishing up a small tour and plan to record new material.  This has slightly been put on hold due to Thomas recording his second solo album.
