Notes

This is the debut for Detroit rapper Obie Trice.  The album consists of some great featured artists and great production.  There were a few singles released, but to me some of the best tracks were not singles.  The album peaked at number 5 on the Billboard charts.

Recommendations

This is a pretty solid hip-hop album full of good production, nice hooks, and some good flows.  It's hard to find a nice hip-hop album like this one, post 2003, so it's a must for your collection.

If you plan on purchasing Cheers

There is the original 2003 release and a clean/edited version as well.  As I always say, go for the explicit "true" version of the album.  But if you plan on playing this around small children or offensive people, you may want the clean version.  Both of these can be purchased at Cdnow.com.

If you don't plan on purchasing Cheers but want to hear some tracks from it

This is a good hip-hop album and should be in your library.  If you're thinking about passing it up and going with individual tracks, a good place to start would be my top 5.  All of these tracks are excellent.  If you like them after you preview or purchase them at Itunes or Napster, you should consider maybe checking out more tracks.  For more ideas you can visit my ideal compilation for Obie Trice at my Obie Trice Home Page.
