Obie Trice
Obie Trice is a rapper from Detroit, Michigan. He began rapping at a young age and recorded several underground tracks before being signed and recognized be fellow Detroit rapper Eminem. Something unique about Obie in comparison to other rappers is that he doesn't have a stage name, Obie Trice is his real birth name. He made his first appearances as a feature on a D12 track and was also on the 8 Mile soundtrack. After being featured on other albums he finally released his debut album on Shady Records in 2003. The album featured a lot of guest stars and charted quite well. Close to two years later Obie was shot in the head, he has survived and doctors are afraid to remove the bullet, so it is actually still in his skull. Since the shooting Obie has released another solo album and is in the works of releasing his third album. During the recording of this album Obie Trice has officially left Shaddy Records. Apparently he left on good terms and is still friends with Eminem. Obie is now singed to his own label named Worldwide Hustle. As of summer 2008, it is unknown how this will impact his third album.
