Primus

Primus is one of the goofiest band that I have ever heard.  The band was formed out of California and is led by bass player and vocalist Les Claypool.  Primus totally reminds of the classic rock band Rush.  A three member band that has a great bass player who is the lead vocalist, good guitar player, and out of this world drummer.  The band first started playing in the mid 80's with a completely different line-up.  It was 1989 when the band formed what would be their most popular line-up.  Les Claypool on bass, Larry LaLonde on guitar, and the drummer from Germany, Tim "Herb" Alexander.  The trio would first release a live album and the record a few studio albums.  In 1996 "Herb" would leave Primus.  I remember as though it was yesterday.  He was the reason why I got into the band, and now he was leaving.  I knew that was going to be bad news for the band, and it pretty much was.  I bought their next album, and it just wasn't the same.  LaLonde would later end up leaving the band for a while and in 2003 would rejoin.  Also joining the band again was "Herb"  With the original line-up back together the band produced a few DVD's and a new LP, the first new recordings with "Herb" since 1995.
