Britney Spears

Britney Spears in an American pop singer from Kentwood, Louisiana.  She auditioned for the kids show The Mickey Mouse Club, but was too young to join.  Instead she participated in several musicals in New York and eventually was on the show for a short time.  She joined an all girl group named Innocence, but shortly left them to pursue her own solo career, which started as an opening act for big pop groups such as 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys.  She released her first single "...Baby one more time" and an album with the same name, and it was a huge success.  She was becoming a major star as her follow up album sold even more copies.  Spears has always been surrounded by controversy.  Weather if it's an outfit that she's wearing, actions on stage, or her personal life outside of the music biz, the tabloids are always there to destroy her.  In addition to her singing she also enjoys acting.  She has made cameos in several TV shows and starred in a major film titled Crossroads.  Spears was married to back-up dancer Kevin Federline for two years.  Their marriage and divorce was an ongoing story for many tabloids.  In 2007 Britney broke down entering numerous rehabs and shaving her head.  Due to her ongoing struggles she lost custody to her children after her divorce.  Since then she has been working on cleaning up her act, and is now able to have visitations with her children.  As of 2008 Britney is working on her 6th studio album.
