Notes
This is the solo debut of 2pac. It is the most violent album he would release dealing with racism, cop killing, and heavy drug use. He wasn't well known at the time of its release and didn't do so well in sales. An attorney, defending a young boy who shot a Texas State Trooper, stated that his client was influences by the lyrics on this album causing him to commit this crime. Vice President Dan Quayle heard this statement and made a statement of his own saying "There's no reason for a record like this to be released. It has no place in our society." The two biggest hits from this album are "Trapped" and Brenda's got a baby". It peaked at number 34 on the Billboard charts.
Recommendations
As dirty as the lyrics are here I would still recommend this to anyone who can tolerate the language. There were only a few polished albums by 2pac before his death, which are all classics.
If you plan on purchasing 2Pacalypse now
There is only one version to get your hands on. I see it from time to time to in stores, but it is a bit pricey. You can purchase it at Cdnow.com, but mind you, in most cases you can usually get two CD's for the price at this site.
If you don't plan on purchasing 2Pacalypse now but want to hear some tracks from it
You have a couple options here. You could purchase his greatest hits package, which includes the two hits "Trapped" and "Brenda's got a baby". But to be honest, to me, there are a few better songs found here than those two. However, you can not purchase any of these tracks at Itunes or Napster, so you would need to purchase the album if you wanted anything other than these two tracks. If you would like more 2pac suggestions, check out my ideal compilation at my 2pac Home Page.
