Notes

Van Halen's second album is another classic in their catalog.  It was recorded less than a year after their debut, Van Halen.  The album consists of what could possibly be my favorite Van Halen song, Dance the night away and the Summer jam Beautiful girls.  The song Spanish Fly to me is an acoustic version of the opening track Eruption from their debut.  The black and yellow guitar that Eddie is seen holding on the back cover is buried with Pantera's late guitarist Darryl Dimebag Darrell.  Van Halen II peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Pop charts.

Recommendations

To me it's not as good as their debut, but still a good rocking album.  I believe that this should be in your collection along with all the other David Lee Roth era Van Halen albums.

You must purchase the 2000 remastered version.  Warner Brothers have remastered all David Lee Roth era Van Halen albums, and this is the one that you must go with.  You can find this album available at your local record store, or you can check out Cdnow.com.  You should never pay more that $10.99 for this.
